1914年，Souvenir字体最初是由Morris Fuller Benton为American Type Founders公司绘制的，只有一个字重。它于1967年由Photo-Lettering技术重新复刻，并针对照排设备进行了优化。 ITC成立于1971年，并在Photo-Lettering技术的帮助下，将ITC Souvenir作为其首批字体家族之一推出。ITC Souvenir是由Ed Benguiat设计的，有四个字重，每个字重都有其相应的斜体。后来又增添了等宽版本：ITC Souvenir Monospaced。
The Souvenir typeface was originally drawn by Morris Fuller Benton in 1914 as a single weight for the American Type Founders company. It was revived in 1967 by Photo-Lettering and optimized for phototypesetting equipment. ITC was formed in 1971 and, with the help of Photo-Lettering, introduced ITC Souvenir as one of its first font families. ITC Souvenir was designed by Ed Benguiat and comes in four weights, each with a matching italic. A monospace version was added later: ITC Souvenir Monospaced.
